About Our Wheelchair Vehicles
At Mobility Disabled in Bristol, about 90% of our wheelchair vehicles come directly from Motability. Additionally, we also purchase wheelchair vehicles privately or reacquire those we have previously sold. All our vehicles are owned outright by us and are HPi clear, meaning they are free from finance, have never been involved in an accident and subsequently written off, and have never been stolen. We provide full MOT history and service information to verify the mileage of each vehicle. For your peace of mind, we can offer an HPi report on any vehicle you choose, ensuring complete transparency regarding its history.
Ensuring the Safety of Our Wheelchair Vehicles
How do I know that your wheelchair vehicles are safe?
At Mobility Disabled, safety is our top priority. Each wheelchair vehicle undergoes a thorough inspection by our team to ensure all relevant belts and wheelchair restraints are functioning correctly or replaced as necessary. Additionally, the wheelchair securing belts are inspected as part of any MOT. We collaborate with an independent garage for MOTs, pre-delivery assessments, and vehicle servicing. This independent check guarantees that each vehicle is fit for purpose, of satisfactory quality, and accurately described.
We welcome pre-booked vehicle inspections requested by our customers (at their expense) for additional peace of mind. We highly recommend DEKRA for vehicle inspections, as they are used by Motability and provide an unbiased assessment of the vehicle’s condition. You can contact DEKRA directly through this link: DEKRA Vehicle Inspections.
Our comprehensive checks aim to eliminate any potential issues with our wheelchair access vehicles. However, if problems arise, we are committed to resolving them promptly.
Our In-House Mechanical Warranty
Who provides the warranty on your wheelchair vehicles?
We provide our own personal in-house mechanical warranty. This covers the vehicle and its adaptions, most warranties from companies will not cover what is deemed after market changes, they only cover the vehicle as it was initially in the factory. Also, most extended warranty have a claim limit, our warranty doesn't, we cover to the value of the vehicle at the time of sale. We also cover diagnostics and pay the hourly rate determined by the garage regardless of cost, most warranties will dictate the hourly rate they cover.
Having spent considerable amounts on branded warranties in the past, we found they often did not cover expected items. Consequently, we decided to offer our own warranty. Most of our wheelchair vehicles come with a 6-month or 6,000-mile warranty (whichever comes first), in addition to your consumer rights. Some of our vehicles also carry remaining manufacturer warranties, which complement our coverage.
Handling Issues with Your Wheelchair Vehicle
If I have a problem with one of your wheelchair vehicles, what do I do?
If you encounter a problem with your wheelchair vehicle, contact us immediately. Depending on the issue, we may ask you to take the vehicle to your local garage for inspection and diagnosis, return it to us for assistance, or bring it to the garage we use for all servicing and MOT needs. We will coordinate with the garage to ensure your vehicle is repaired swiftly, and we will cover the cost.
But do you offer an extended warranty?
Yes, we do.. As we are AA Car Standards Approved dealer, we also have the option of offering an AA extended warranty, so dependent on the age of the vehicle, depends on the level of cover available.
